LGBTQ Rights

LGBTQs are being disrespected and treated differently.

Dear Future President of The United States

Do you believe everyone gets the same rights no matter what? Have you ever thought someone deserved less rights or even more rights just because of what they are or believe in? If not you're like me, I believe everyone needs/deserves the same rights as anyone else including the LGBTQs. People complain about transgender bathrooms, marriages, and even jail time in certain states.

People have a point when they talk about transgender bathrooms. Since same sex marriages are now legal. “As the visibility of transgender Americans has increased in recent years, it has been accompanied by a contentious political debate over the rights of the estimated 0.6% of U.S. adults who identify as transgender – in particular, which public restrooms they should legally be allowed to enter.”(Lipka) I personally think there should be a transgender bathrooms just because of the parents. Some parents worry when a transgender goes in the same bathroom as his/her child. It would change and calm parents.

Since gays and lesbians can marry there has been a lot of commotion. “As a whole, Americans are closely divided over whether businesses that provide wedding services, such as catering or flowers, should be required to provide those services to same-sex couples as they would to any other customer (49%), or whether they should be able to refuse those services to same-sex couples if the business owner has religious objections to homosexuality (48%).”(Webster) It’s mostly half and half about people being able to reject services to samesex ciouples, so if you're planning to get married your have to find one wedding planner that will accept your offer.

Lastly some states execute or even jail LGBTQs. ”On Jan. 7 Nigeria’s president, Goodluck Jonathan, enthusiastically signed into law the Same Sex Marriage (Prohibition) Act, aka the “jail the gays“ bill. Nigeria already had in place harsh laws against its LGBTQ population, but Jonathan’s recent edict tacitly encourages mobs who engage in what amounts to “queer cleansing” — the violent and systematic eradication of any expression of LGBTQ identities and culture.”(Monroe) Iran, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Yemen, Nigeria, Somalia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, and Mauritania will kill LGBTQs just because of what they are and who they are.

Please if you do care make a change I can't do this by myself.I need an upper more respected figure. So please
