House of Representatives: The Corruption

"Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek." -Barack Obama

The Honorable Future Presiden

Dear Future President,

I am a resident of Sunny Isles Beach, FL, and I am writing because nearly everyone that our House of Representatives is catastrophically broken.

The House of Representatives has a total of 435 members and nobody can believe that such large groups of people are able to produce anything efficient. Thinking back into the earlier years, the amount of times the Senate has announced to work on bipartisan deals, which President Obama said he’d sign, only to have the deals denied by the House of Representatives. Moreover, if it were not for the House of Representatives our nation’s credit would have never decreased and would not have repossession cuts, also have functional immigration change and our government would have never shut down.

As a young, concerned citizen of Sunny Isles Beach, I concur that when it comes to the House of Representatives, they often get overestimated about campaigns, which does not help the fact that they only serve two terms, so they spend most of their time gearing up for a general election. As to say we might only get 10 out of the 24 months service where they might actually take the possibility on even the slightest piece of legislation. The biggest problem is with the House of Representatives, for they are flawed as to how they plan on “representing the people,” instead they are this catastrophic diverse grouping of people that hardly if at all get anything done. Since there are so many members in the House of Representatives, there should be some common ground, but in fact there are such polar opposites, for example rural Alabama and metro San Francisco, they are on opposite sides of the end and might as well be different countries.

Explicitly, I am writing to ask you to give the House of Representatives a “wake up call” in order to keep the government in check and have some sort of common ground, for this country is nearly divided between liberals and conservatives. The House of Representatives is more of a split house that only a minority of people has the popular vote whilst the rest get their beliefs silenced then block any one else from having any real power. Speaking, as a youth and alarmed citizen, would gain significantly from this request and ask of you to consider changing the methods of making and passing federal laws, also to be aware that having so many different opinions is chaotic.

Thank you for considering this matter,

Sincerely,

Valerie Guillen,
