GUN CONTROL

Guns aren't the problem, gun bans are.

           Dear future president,

I believe in amending gun bans.  Why?  Several people in my extended family lived in Chicago, where strict gun permits are required.  Almost all of them died in shootings, trying to defend themselves with inadequate weapons. This, in short, is why I care. Every day people die, leaving their families behind, because they couldn't properly protect themselves.

I think that gun bans have no effect on shooting rates. What many mayors, politicians, and others think is if you take away civilians' guns, the criminals will give up their guns, too.  Uh, hello people! The only reason criminals are criminals is because they DON'T FOLLOW THE LAW. Eventually they will get ahold of guns, and murders will be easier because the people won't have guns to protect themselves.

It's already clear that I care, why should others?  Like I said, every day people die because they couldn't protect themselves properly.  I know more people will die because of this, even with the strictest gun bans. And that, in short, is why I care.

                                                                                                                                               Sincerely,

                                                                                                                            Tyler M. from Indiana
