Standardized Testing

Standardized Testing is hurting many students futures, and it needs to be abolished.

Dear Future President,

Congratulations on winning the election, and becoming president! All of the hard work you have put into the election has finally paid off. I am writing this letter to you because there is a huge problem in the nation and nobody is taking a stand to fix it. Standardize testing in the United States is not benefiting students or faculty and should be banished.

The State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) affects the stress level, college admission, and ability to graduate for teens. The STAAR test is timed which adds to the level of stress that is put on teens. If you do not pass the test, you will be held back, and if you do not make a high grade, some colleges will not accept you into their university.

In conclusion, the STAAR test needs to be abolished. Once again, I would like to thank you for all of the hard work you have put into this country. I am looking forward to all of the great things you will do for this country.

Respectfully,

Julia N.
