Stop the Texts, Stop the Wrecks

We must stop texting and driving!

October 27, 2016

Dear President,

Texting and Driving is a subject that has been pushed to the side. I believe that it should come to a stop because it has harmed many people in the world. No state has bands texting and driving and we need to know why.

No state has banned cell phone use for all drivers in the United States. However, they have made laws stating it’s against the law for teens to text while driving. 1.6 million car crashes occur from this every year along with 333,000 injuries. 1 out of every 4 car accidents in the United States is caused by texting and driving. You can say that there are school zones where they usually charge if you use you cell phone, but how do they know. Police officers can not always see every single person in the school zone.

In the end, it is your decision to pass the law. I would hope that its would help persuade you to do the right thing. Don’t let it keep happening. Stop the texts. Stop the wrecks.

Respectfully,

Hannah I.
