The new president faces a very arduous task. Of the issues that need to be tackled include: the rising cost of college, the job market and economy, foreign affairs, legalization of gay marriage, and the current state of our health system. The biggest issue in my essay is the health system. Prices are outrageous. The mental health care system is also inadequate.
On July 5, 1971, the 26 th amendment was passed. That amendment states, “the right of citizens of the United States, who are eighteen years of age or older, to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or any State on account of age.” I believe this amendment was passed to give young people a say about their future.
There are many major issues that need attention within our country and as president, you really have your work cut out for you. Although there are other important issues, I would like to voice my opinion on the issues that are quickly becoming more meaningful to me as I consider a career in the medical field. The rising cost of college and keeping the health care system private are major issues that must be addressed.
Problems facing the American citizens these days hit closer to home as of late. With the process of getting an education, finding and obtaining a job, purchasing a house, making it a home, and maintaining our health throughout the process, has become a life-long stress all its own.
This is a nation governed by the people and for the people; this second concept lost importance over the last eight years. Focus has shifted from finding the homeless jobs to tax cuts for the wealthy. How can our government continue to listen to the underprivileged less and less? How can a nation that focuses on the separation of church and state allow the church to decide issues? How can the president change the nation?
Most if not all of the various situation going on currently in the in the United States should be or have to be dealt with as soon as possible. One of the main situations that is at hand and costing us much money is the current war going on in Iraq we been there since 2002, I notice the drastic change in their government and the many improvements in their country but doing that we have put ourselves in a deeper hole. Also the other problem is the one that is taking place right at home and that is the health care issue that is taking its toll on most of the American families. Thirdly the cost of education has sky rocketed, its more money to further your education to a college level and then in the lower level schools. We can't even provide enough materials to support their educational needs.

Have you ever wondered if you could get the help you need in case of a crisis? Well, if you have some sort of health coverage then probably not; but what about those Americans who have no coverage? They have to worry abouth their families and themselves constantly because they cannot afford to go to a doctors office or hospital if they become ill. So why not fix this? Make your tax dollars go to a good casue. Universal Healthcare would benefit everyone and yourself. It would make your doctor or nurse focus more on the patient then on the procedure price and it would save lives!
