On July 5, 1971, the 26 th amendment was passed. That amendment states, “the right of citizens of the United States, who are eighteen years of age or older, to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or any State on account of age.” I believe this amendment was passed to give young people a say about their future.

On November 4th, 2008, United States citizens will be electing a new president to lead the way of our great American made country. It is probably important now more than ever that we get the right set of political leaders to help our great country run more efficiently, and legally. What I mean by legally is our problem with illegal immigration, and how it is affecting our country in more than one way.

The Media has too much of an influence on the people of the United States. Something needs to be done. In my letter I discuss the media, abortion, economy, and homosexual marriages.

Americans are facing many issues and we need the President's help to get us on the right track to solving those problems, and being an opinionated person, I've put my two cents in on a few things.

As we prepare to elect a new president into office, there are many different issues that you will have to deal with during your four years. Whether it be resurrecting our economy, saving people's retirements, or keeping college prices affordable, your task is difficult.

All of the issues with the economy is really worrying me about my future.

We have many things to discuss. Our economy is in a bad state at the moment, and we have many other problems to deal with. We have an enormous debt of 9 trillion dollars and it's growing every day at a rapid pace, due to the fact that we are over in the Middle East fighting. If we don't figure out how to fix our problems with our economy or any of the other many problems we have, our country will begin to decline in power, which will put us in danger of being taken over by a different country.

Ever since the September 11th, 2001 attacks and declaring war on terrorism, our country's economy has gone into, and has remained in, an economic slump. Our national debt, inflation, and military troop deaths are steadily increasing every day. I believe that our foreign policy needs to be changed. In the world that we live in today, we simply cannot police the world.

We must improve our world.
