As I walk through the halls every day during school I am constantly reminded that we as Americans are becoming increasingly overweight. Whether it's from lack of exercise or possibly due to the current job they posses; the results are blatantly clear.
Of the 4,058,000 live births each year, 458,952 are born to mothers without adequate parental care. And 468,988 of the yearly average are born to teenage mothers. Without abortion, the percentage of Americans at or below the poverty line will greatly increase.
Our environment is drastically changing due to a rise in temperature because of greenhouse gases. Our forests are being destroyed, which is taking away our oxygen supply. Forests also help to regulate the climate, and by cutting them down, we are not helping ourselves out much. Toxic gases and wastes are being let out into the air we breath, taking away years of our live. Something needs to be changed.
The legal driving age of a person should be eighteen instead of sixteen. I have researched and there are too many deaths among sixteen year old drivers. It is only the smart thing to do. With this change there would be less accidents and fewer deaths among teens.
Homosexuals in our society are not getting any less rights than other citizens.
As a strong believer of embryonic stem cell research I will be quick to say it should be allowed BUT only with restrictions. I personally find that the pro's of this type of research greatly outweigh the con's, and I hope that my argument for it will persuade you the same.

The death penalty offers a mild solution to today's prison overpopulation problem. Although the numbers of prisoners on death row are few in comparison to the general population of the prisons, the elimination of certain criminals will have, I believe, a positive effect on the population problem as well as potential inmates. Every year the number of inmates exponentially increases, and utilizing the death penalty, in my opinion, is one way to solve a problem.
