Earn respect
Issues: Respect
What should a President represent? A President should represent our country, the United States of America, as a leader and a roll model to everyone across the world. Our president should work for the people, and put their interests first. America is struggling, and needs a new leader who embodies the strength of our country, unlike our current president's reputation. With the U.S. federal debt above $10 trillion, our future President has a lot of work to do, and to do this he/she needs the approval of the American people.
Whether it is fair or not, the current president is not respected or liked by most Americans. He has an extremely low approval rating, below 30% at this time, and our economy is in trouble. The media and the public are constantly criticizing him, and even my twelve-year-old sister sometimes talks about how dumb the President is, or how he is doing a terrible job, even though she knows next to nothing about politics. She says this because all the other children around her say it too. It is too bad that this is the public opinion for our own commander in chief. There is even a popular new movie making fun of the president while he’s still in office.
This is not how someone who is running our country should be depicted, especially by his own people. America needs a change in leadership for the better. Whoever is elected our next President in the coming months, must work their hardest hardest to earn the respect of the American people, and the rest of the world, then we can work together to fix whatever problems we have.
