A lot of the past presidents have not really seen and understood the lives of the people that they should be representing. I think a really good goal for our upcoming president would be to get to know some of the people better so that every decision that is made is made with their best interests in mind. I think that three groups of people  who deserve this are the elderly, students, and small business owners.

 I think that the elderly are a huge part of the population and should be taken very seriously. With the economic depression I think that they should be a number one group and should be helped with, if not all, then at least much of their social security problems. Also I think that they should be kept in mind when it comes to being ill. I think that they should be able to get the medicine that they need no matter what. They deserve to live as much as any and I think it should not be a problem to give them what they need.

Another huge and important group is the student population. I think it is extremely important that they are kept in mind since a lot of what they do, think and believe is going to matter eventually. I think that it should be much easier for a student to go to college. Colleges are very expensive right now and a lot for students are going into their first year of  colleges with loans beyond belief. I think that can be fixed so that students can have more money to start their college life than going into it broke. Another big thing with students is drop out rates. I think it should be a lot harder for a student to drop out of school. Many high school students think that they can just drop out and get a GED and stiff have the same life as anyone that stuck to high school and worked hard. I think that many of those students are in for rude awakenings.

The last huge group that I think is worth mentioning is the small business owners. I want the president to understand what they are going through. I think that the president should make sure that they are not being taxed too much because many are already struggling. Another thing i think should be fixed with the small business owners is that they should not have as many hidden fees. They really should not be used as a target to get more random money.

I truly hope that the next president of the United States an understands his people. I hope that he puts them first, not himself or anyone else besides the people in his country. I want him to know and represent everyone, not the select few that are rich or even the select few that are poor. The president of the United States represents the United States I want him to know that. I hope that he thinks of himself as a part of all of us to help him make many of the decisions he needs to make.
