The next President of the United States who might it be?
October 6, 2008
Dear Senator Obama:
My name is Melyssa and I am participating in an online writing project at my high school in upstate New York. I am glad that you’re running for President, and I think you are trying to address all the problems. There are still somethings that you need to talk about, things that are going on in this world.
My first issue are the gas prices. Every single person in this world is paying a high price because of the war and other issues. When I start driving, which will be next year, I don’t want to pay almost four dollars a gallon. I like your ideas about ending the war, but when you do, can you lower the gas prices with it?
Another issue that I would like to talk about is healthcare. If you are turning a certain age that cuts you off of healthcare and you can’t afford something like you pills or other treatments, that’s wrong. For example, if you move, change jobs, reach a certain age, you should still have healthcare. Everyone needs to be treated if they are sick or need to take medication. One instance that is very unfair is that my seven year old cousin that just turned that age got cut off from healthcare because of his age. Now that is ridicules! Healthcare is so expensive! this is how much it cost in 2002 till 2007, so that means with that much time it went up almost seven hundred dollars.
