Time For a Change
Issues: Economy, Election, United, Debate
Dear Senator Obama,
I am 16 years old and I attend a High School in upstate NY. I am a proud American Citizen. Even though I am not old enough to vote, I feel that I should have a say in the presidential election. I appreciate and believe in your terms that you want to instill within your term as president. I would love for you to be the next President of the United States. I am writing because I am participating in an online writing and publishing project that invites high school students to write about issues and concerns that we would want the next United States president to address.
I think that our nation would improve if you are elected President. A concern that I have for this country is the war in Iraq. The troops should be sent home. The war that is going on is senseless, and our troops need to be here with their families. We have lost many troops to the war in Iraq, and we have not yet accomplished what we went there for. So, I think that it is a great idea that you will be sending troops home if you are elected president.
I also think that taxes are very high and that there are too many of them. I live at home with a single parent and three younger siblings. It seems as if most of our money is going to taxes or expensive gas and oil prices. The prices of everything have increased a lot, but we manage to get by so far and if you can lower tax on some items or decrease gas prices, my family and I would be more than happy.
