Writing Our Future

Americans are in a recession

Issues: War

Dear Mr. President,

Now that you are the new president of the United States of America, you must know that we Americans are still at war with Iraq. I think this is our former president, George W. Bush’s fault. The effects of this war include: the deaths of thousands of people, economic bankruptcy, and a recession.

We’ve been in this war, in Iraq since the year 2001. Since then hundreds of thousands of people have lost their lives fighting for our country. I believe the reason for this war is because Iraqi citizens came to America and crashed 3 passenger planes into the world trade center, better known as the twin towers, and the pentagon.

I also believe that we are still in this war because bush is fighting for oil. I think this is because the country of Iraq has a way larger quantity of oil than the u.s.

This war has caused economic problems because of things such as the gas prices that have been posted in the gas stations for the past months. Also because the prices of food has gone up dramatically. We Americans are in a recession. Many people can’t get jobs and taxes are increasing. It would make no sense because if people don’t have a job, how will they buy things.

Basically, the reason for this letter is to ask how are you going to fix this country after Bush leaves office.

 Sincerely,
