THE WORLD AND OUR PROBLEMS
Issues: Gas Prices, Gun Laws, The War In Iraq
Hi, my name is Leslie R. I am a high school student at Brighton High and in eleventh grade. I am seventeen years old an every night before I go to sleep I watch the news and every day before I go to school I watch the news and seeing all the things that are happening in the world these day' is very disappointing and sad. People lose there lives everyday and they can't find who did it.
A lot of people that I know have been saying don't you think that it's time for the soldiers to come home? They have been up there so long like seven years now. I have family over there. My brother mike is up there. I basically have known him since I was first born. So, Mr. President, when you step into that Oval Office, make plans to get the soldiers out as soon as possible.
Another issue is that the gas prices are being raised every time you go to fill up your car. You must spend over forty dollars worth of gas. That's killing our hard earned money that we work for and it gets wasted on gas that's not even going to fill up our tanks. The needle doesn't even move. We as Americans need to find a new source of energy on how to power our households and outdoor appliances. Solar powered generators and electric cars should be cheaper. By 2015 everyone in the United States will have an electric car or they should make a car that runs on water so everyone will have a good use of a water powered car. The gas that some cars put out some people think that it's messing up our air. They think that it is causing global warming. The issue hasn't been recognized as a worldwide problem. Some people don't care about it. They think that it can't harm us, but it might one day.
In conclusion of my letter, everybody has problems with the war and gas prices.
