Writing Our Future

Women should have the right to make decisions for their own reasons and the government shouldn’t make the decisions for them.

Issues: Abortion

Dear Mr. President,

There are many things I know you need to handle in this country and I

respect and highly appreciate you taking out some time to read my letter.

Abortion is a very important issue in this country. Even though I am

against abortions, I think it should be legal.

I think that women should have the right to make these decisions for

their own reasons and the government shouldn’t make the decisions for

them. Women can have reasons such as they don’t have enough money,

they got raped, or they are simply not ready for any kids yet. Also if

someone got raped it could be against their religion to have a “bastard

child.” Some people look at abortions in only one bad way. There are many

ways you can look at abortions; it is not only a bad thing. Having abortions

can save money for the government by not having another mouth to feed,

and also by not having another child suffering in the world.

“Because you are in control of your life don’t ever forget that. You are

what you are because of the conscious and subconscious choices you have

made”. That was a quote written by Barbara Hall, the quote to me means

that you are in control of your life, so therefore you should be able to make

your own decisions.  Also if you are a teenager and got pregnant and is still

in high school you should be able to have an abortion so you can finish

school and everything else that is important. If you can’t afford to take care

of a baby and you are not emotionally and financially ready to support a

baby and something bad might end up happening to your baby.

In conclusion, even though I am against abortion, I think women should

have the right and the freedom to have or get an abortion, because it is

their life and if it is best for them they should be able to do it. I think that

if women want to have an abortions they should have the freedom to do

what they feel is right and the government shouldn’t be able to make people

do what they don’t want to do.

Sincerely,
Suzette Hopedales
