Writing Our Future

My View On Abortions

Issues: Pro Life, Abortion

Dear Future President:
Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this letter.  Abortion is a topic that I believe deserves your attention and action. Every year, there are many babies that are killed before they have the chance to be born.  What if one of them was supposed to become a President in the future or a person that would become a scientist and cure a disease?  What if one of them would have been me?  I guess that I wouldn't have been given this opportunity to write you a letter.  We need your help to stop the taking of lives that may be important to the future of our country and our world. After all, there are other options. Abortions should be illegal because it's wrong, it enables people to act immorally, and there are other options.
I think that the only way for abortions to be stopped is for them to be made illegal.  I also realize that this wouldn't stop every single one, but it would stop many.  For our country to keep abortion legal allows killing of babies. Most people would agree that even without law on abortion, the taking of a baby's life is just plain wrong. The act of killing a baby is immoral, and the knowing that it is legal permits acts that are immoral.  People that disagree probably just don't want to take responsibility for their actions or deal with the consequences.  By making it legal, we tell people to not be serious about the results of having sex before commitments are made.
Abortions are also bad because it gives a reason for people to act immoral. If someone gets pregnant they turn to abortions because it just allows them to get out of trouble. Plus it prevents people not having to deal with consequences. When someone has sex they do it without thinking what could happen and when the do realize what could happen they just say I could always just get an abortion.
The baby does not get a chance agree or disagree.  If it did, it certainly wouldn't choose to be killed.  In cases where the mom or dad didn't really want the baby, there is always adoption. There are many people that can't have their own kids and would give a home to an unwanted child and give the baby lots of love.  If we did make it a law, we'd be agreeing that abstinence is a choice rather than have a baby without wanting it or commitment.  Partners and couples would understand that there are responsibilities to deal with.
Having a baby can be a good thing if the parents are willing to take care and provide for it. So please help make something that is obviously wrong into a law. I hope everything that I've said helps you to decide to stop killing innocent babies. Thank you for everything.
            Respectfully Yours,
                Unaborted Joe F.
