Pulling out of Iraq
Issues: Iraq, Afghanistan, War
Dear Mr. President:
The war in Iraq has gone on or far too long, as you well know. The economy is crumbling. and we cannot afford the 10 billion dollars a month we are sinking into this war. If we must have troops stationed in that general area, we should pull out our troops, and then restation them in Afghanistan to finish the war there. Of course, being 17, I do not know the mechanics of war, but the war in Iraq is unnecessary in my opinion. The Taliban is located in Afghanistan, not Iraq. Also, Iraq had no weapons of mass destruction, as our 42nd president was led to believe. If we were stationed in Iraq to combat Saddam Hussein, we have already taken care of that. As everybody knows, he was trapped, tried in court, and then publicly executed by his loyal followers in Iraq. If there are different motives for being in Iraq, I do not know them but I would suggest pulling out, as we have no business left to complete there.
