Illegal immigrants in the United States--are they an issue? What should we do about it? Can we blame them for coming to America?
Not knowing what will happen in our society today as Americans is scary to say the least. Comparing the past to what the future could hold is frightening when you take in September 11, 2001, or October 29, 1929, into perspective. Anything can change in the time it takes to blink, and the thing that changes could change our lives forever.
Am I safe? That I don't know, anymore. When I was younger, I would go outside, and play with my friends after school, and not have to worry at all about the security of our nation, nor did I really care at the time. But now, being a first time voter in the new election year, the simple question that I always took for granted seems much more complex.
We have many things to discuss. Our economy is in a bad state at the moment, and we have many other problems to deal with. We have an enormous debt of 9 trillion dollars and it's growing every day at a rapid pace, due to the fact that we are over in the Middle East fighting. If we don't figure out how to fix our problems with our economy or any of the other many problems we have, our country will begin to decline in power, which will put us in danger of being taken over by a different country.
I'm only one person, but my voice can still be heard. I'm only going to discuss with you a few problems that are going on in our world today. So hear me out with some of these things. Many of the students whose essays you are reading, probably feel the same way. I'll be sharing with you about abortion, illegal immigration, and education mixed in with some gas prices.
