On November 4th, 2008, United States citizens will be electing a new president to lead the way of our great American made country. It is probably important now more than ever that we get the right set of political leaders to help our great country run more efficiently, and legally. What I mean by legally is our problem with illegal immigration, and how it is affecting our country in more than one way.

We must improve our world.

I think that drug law penalties should increase. What are the republicans and democrats going to do about it?

DUI penalties need to be much harsher than they are now and the current BAC level needs to be lowered significantly. If these measures are taken, DUI could be eliminated completety resulting in a safer country for everyone.

In the world many crimes are being committed. But people don’t receive good punishment for what they have done. Most of the time people are just sent to jail or put on house arrest. When they should use stricter punishments so that they could understand what they done was wrong. A lot of people in the world are killing people for no reason, due to arguments and fights. People should be able to live and not be scared to get killed in public or in their own homes. Sometimes when people go to court the judge puts then on house arrest or sends them to jail. But sometimes when they are put on house arrest they cut their house arrest bands off. Or when they get out of jail they still commit the same crimes later on.

Discrimination is not only against those who belong to a minority. Those who may be considered the majority are affected by hate crimes and discrimination, too. We need to extend public attention to these groups. If we draw attention to the people who commit hate crimes, then perhaps they will not repeat the action.

There would be all sorts of criminals just walking around everywhere, and no one would feel safe. This is why certain aspects of the justice system need to be imposed or changed.

Mr. President, as you take office there are some things I would like us to improve on. These include: crime rate, gas prices, and the war in Iraq. If we could improve on these topics I belive it would make our country a better place.

Usually when an accusation is made against you that you know that you didn't do, you deny it and try to explain right? Imagine being accused of something and before you can explain yourself you've been beaten or killed.

Changes can and should be made on the issue of gun policy and crime. The changes made can have an effect on society drastically and can maybe save hard earned tax payer dollars. With the new president's support and help, changes can be made on this issue.
