This is a letter to the president about the economy, general things, and the war.
As a country we are in need of more funding in all of our schools nationwide.
Sexual Harassment is an issue that is very often overlooked, and yet it happens to over 20% of women.
My main point is education. Many people are saying how kids are our future and how they need a proper education, but are people really doing what they say they would do? Or are they just all talk and no action? Even though economic issues may seem like bigger things to look for in a president, education plays a key role in shaping our future and is one of the main things that should be looked into.
The next president of the United States of America must take on a huge responsibility. Our nation is at war, and we are a having a major domestic crisis. The American economy has plummeted for the last decade and the American dollar is worth much less than it has in the past. America seems to be the punch line of every other country's jokes. It all needs to be fixed.
I want my letter to have the purpose of getting my message out to people in the government who usually would never hear what a sixteen year old girl from Manhattan has to say. Throughout my letter, I give my very specific opinion on the idea of being pro-choice, what a ban on abortion could lead to in our country, and my own questions for the next President of the United States of America.
Mr. Future President, we must talk about some issues for when you make office.
Our country is facing many issues right now with countries in the Middle East and and we have our own issues within ourselves.
Our society is an ever changing world in itself. Everyone has their own views on the worlds issues, and these are just my opinions on issues that I think should be recognized, including abortion rights, and the military enlistment age.
Marijuana should be legal everywhere and there are not enough restrictions on developing the environment. Marijuana is not just for abuse and relaxation, it can also be used medically and I support Barack Obama for his legalization of medical Marijuana.
In the modern world, our lives are or will be constantly pressed by environmental concerns, economic fluctuations, and the cost and availability of energy. What can the next president of the United States do to address these concerns?
Lately, complaining about failures in the economy has been front page news. All the companies that were on top a couple of years ago hardly have any money to their name now. The value of the American dollar has decreased a lot the last couple of years, the national debt has risen. In general there have many problems centered around money in the United States. Where has a lot of this missing money gone? To this war that we are fighting. However if you asked many people, why we are at war, they couldn't give you a straight answer. Meanwhile schools everywhere in the country are suffering budget cuts. But really, where should the money be going?
Should gays be allowed to marry? Why or why not? They make up most of the population of our world and people treat them so differently. Why? I think that's the question that most Americans have. Gays are just like us only they like a same sex. What's wrong with that? I know that some people think it's weird but how do you think they feel. They are just trying to live their life that they were born into or that they adopted to. I think one important issue in the United States is gay marriage. I know that you may not want gays to marry but just read what I have to say. I would like to try to change your mind and prove my point. To you this may not be important but for others it is. Gays always wanted to get married and they should be able to. What's wrong with gays getting married? I don't think that there is anything wrong with it. Some people believe in the Bible and they think that gays should not get married. Well according to the bible there should be man and wife. But some people don't believe in the Bible, so why should they be stopped from getting married. I think that's just wrong. For people who believe in the Bible they think it's not normal and disgusting, but think about this. Some people are born with it in their DNA, so it's normal for them to be gay, others just adapt to it and they can't help themselves. You can't blame them for trying to be human. According to the people who believe in the Bible, it is a sin to be with the same sex but what do you think is a bigger sin being gay or not being yourself? Many people give up on themselves because of what people think. People treat them differently because of what they are. To me, not being yourself is a bigger sin than being gay and people should realize that. I think that it's not fair that people are treated differently just because they are gay. I think that nobody should be treated differently. Everybody has the same rights as anyone else. In the Constitution in Amendment 1 it states that Peopl e have freedom of speech, religion and expression. So why are people so against gays getting married. They're just trying to express themselves and people should be able to accept them. There are some problems and I know why people don't want gays to get married. They think that it will affect society and their lives. People also think that if gays want to reproduce and have kids that's impossible, but really it's not. Gays can adopt kids from orphanages and that would be a huge impact on society. There would be more children who would have a home and a family. It would be kind of awkward if they would have to grow up having two mothers or two fathers but they'll get used to it. They would have a family who loves them and they would have a home to live in. In time society would get used to it. Gays will always find a way to reproduce and I think that they should be able to. I have a friend who is (bisexual) and I don't mind. I got to know her last year and she is so fun to be around. I never knew that she was bisexual until she told me in the middle of the school year. I never treated her differently than anyone else. I treated her with the same respect and love as I did to anyone else. It doesn't bother me that she is gay and I didn't really care that she is. I wasn't the only one who knew and no one treated her differently. Just that someone is gay does not make them a different person- they just don't like the opposite sex only the same sex. I really don't see anything wrong with being gay and I hope that you can understand what I'm trying to say. Many people are rushing to get married and soon enough of those marriages fall apart. There is a 50% divorce rate. But what if gays get married? Will there be a lower divorce rate? I think that if we start letting gays marry the divorce rate might go down. I think that the economy over time has evolved a great deal and I think that it can evolve even more. We should make this economy and society a better place for all types. I would like to thank you for taking your time and reading my letter. I did get my point across and I do think that gays should get married. You might not agree with this but I think this is important to me and all the gay couples. I would like to thank you again for reading my letter and accepting my comments about gay marriage. From, Izabella S.
This is about Barack Obama's policies that I agree with, and why I agree with him.
The U.S. is too dependent on foreign oils! THIS IS MADNESS!
The stock market is crashing and America is going into a recession if not another depression so we should all just go kill ourselves.
This letter addresses the following issues: gay marriage, the war in Iraq and the death penalty.
Dyslexia is a reading disorder that has an effect on many people's ability to read. If you are not able to read, you have trouble communicating. There should be more help with people for dyslexia so they can improve their communication.
I am a freshman at Eleanor Roosevelt High school in New York City. What I write about in my letter to the next President of the United States is how grateful we are to have abortion and birth control in this country. In this letter you will see how abortion and birth control really help women today. It's a woman's choice America, believe what you want to but it's each woman's choice in getting an abortion or taking birth control.
Bad idea for Americans to occupy Iraq, but they should leave once the Iraqi government is strong enough.
