Police Brutality

Police Brutality is wrong and it must stop!

Dear Future President,

Over decades, African Americans have been treated wrongfully, like they are just nobodies. According to the 13th Amendment, slavery ended a long time ago but -now- it's approaching all over again in a different form. Now it's the police officers doing the dirty work, but aren't they supposed to be our protectors and lead by example ? We should all around the country do something to stop the violence being committed in many places by policemen, like peaceful protests and peaceful letters being printed in the newspaper so we could be heard so this can come to an end.

Police Brutality must stop. Many African Americans have been shot and killed by policemen. Statistics from mappoliceviolence.org says,"at least 102 unarmed African Americans were killed by policemen in 2015". Nearly twice each week someone was being gunned down by "our protectors" . The sad thing is, they get no justice. Not 1]one of the policemen has gone to jail for such crimes that they have committed. "In 2014 and 2015 the number of convicted police officers on murder and manslaughter was zero", says the data by a professional professor of criminology.

We should make Policemen wear body cameras. "Body Cameras can be important and helpful especially when the local community supports their use, guided by clear regulation", says www.mic.com. This will be a start at stopping the police brutality. Sending more policemen to jail for their crimes will also contribute to stopping the violence. Policemen will see that they are actually being convicted for it now , the number of killings will decrease. They take advantage of their weapons because they know it's a very high percentage that nothing will happen to them but a suspension. The Government needs to stop them from thinking that by just locking them up like they are regular people.

With all that being said, we must as a -Whole- do something to make all the Police Brutality around America Stop . Police Brutality is something that's been going on for a while, but with the help of everyone, it will begin to decrease and finally coming to an end.
